Welcome to @OS! My name is Alozie Nwosu, and I've set up "shop" here in order to share the knowledge and skills I've gained (and continue to develop) through my work in IT, especially as related to web development, project management, and technology training and education.
@OS Philosophy
Why this site? Why this work? Why this name?
To know the name is to know all. And AFroNaut is what AFroNaut does:
Explores. Returns home.
Shares knowledge. Explores some more.
So in that regard, consider @OS the home to which I shall return regularly from my explorations.
My goal is to bring the best in IT to the people and organizations helping people directly, in education, healthcare, public/community service, and back to technology.
Over the years I became a user of and an advocate for Open Source software and licensing, and the Open Source development philosophy. It to me embodies the notion that a community, from the uninitiated to the expert, can collectively build, support, and share something that will not only benefit themselves, but all those who follow.
In Life and Profession
I have worked in professional IT since 1996. Over the years I've managed websites, designed and built web applications, managed developer teams, and assisted in technology architecture design and implementation.
I am also a professional EMT, and am thankful to have had extraordinary experiences working with multi-leveled teams helping people in crisis.
When I can sneak in some free time, I enjoy writing, films, music, books, running, sailing, kayaking and Aikido.
Learning, Giving, Living
All in all, I hope everything above combines to bring something useful to this world. All that I am able to I look forward to sharing with you through this site.
Enjoy!
Alozie
